detail

Sometime Thereafter is a sequel to my earlier painting In the Beginning, which is an imaginary remembrance of life in the womb, just before being born into the Earthly plane.

Sometime Thereafter represents the joy of being alive once one has found liberation through healing from the manifold slings and arrows that life itself lodges in one’s bones.

Suffering, so the Buddhists wisely advise, is part and parcel of the human experience – inevitable as the air we breathe. By cultivating acceptance and self-awareness, we can free ourselves from excessive torment and unrest, finding inner peace and a sense of lightheartedness within spaciousness.
